New Spoede Party Food Policy
PARTY SNACKS: Any food items provided to children at the class parties MUST be ordered from Chartwell’s (314-983-5466).
This includes any baked goods, decorations (sprinkles and icing), and drinks. The
only exception is bottled water. You may purchase bottled water from an outside source. Go to the Room Parent Information page, and click on the "Chartwell's Order Form" to view a partial list of items available from Chartwell’s
(for additional items available, contact Chartwell’s directly). You may not buy anything edible from any
source other than Chartwell’s. The Chartwell's Order Form also gives specific instructions for placing
your food orders. PARTY CRAFTS: In the past, many of the classroom crafts have incorporated edible items like candy. Under the
new Ladue School District Allergy Policy, food may no longer be used as a part of classroom crafts. Party plans will
be re-worked to include only non-food items.
GOODY BAGS: If your child chooses to pass out goody bags for a party, please do not include ANY edible items in the goody
bags. With the number of allergies at our school, it is very dangerous to students with food allergies who may come
in contact with the allergens in the school common areas and on the bus. Even if your classroom has no food allergies,
food is not permitted in goody bags. If your child brings goody bags to school that contain food products, the teacher
will be required to confiscate the goody bags and they will not be given out to other students.
